This book was inspired by Arndt’s brother, who once colored a sun green in kindergarten. When his teacher scolded him, she didn’t realize he simply couldn’t tell the difference between yellow and green. That moment stuck with Arndt and sparked the idea for Perry’s story—a heartfelt reminder to meet differences with empathy and understanding. The book reflects how Arndt wishes her brother had been treated all those years ago.
